Delayed Book
By the Bettor Alerts team · Updated May 29, 2026
One sportsbook is lagging the market and still posting an old price — a short window to grab the better number before it catches up.
What it is
The rest of the market has moved, but one sportsbook is slow to follow — so for a brief window it is still offering a price the market has already left behind.
Why it is valuable
That lagging price is value you can lock in before it disappears. Betting the old number means getting a better line than the one the market is settling on — which is exactly how you beat the closing line over time.
How to react
Act quickly; the window is short. Take the side where the lagging book is still offering the more favorable number versus the rest of the market, and place it before that book catches up. (See the Betting Line Value Cheat Sheet for which direction is "better" on each market.)
